What Is In My Camera Bag?

I always get asked what kind of camera I have, what kind of equipment I use.... well, I thought I would share a blog with you to tell you all about my "gear"!!

I use a Nikon D800 DSLR camera. My camera is quite a few years old now and I am hoping to get a new one soon and use this as my back up, but that's for another day! It has paint on it, scuffs, marks and dents in it and I just love it!

I have 3 main lenses that I use. I have a zoom lens that is a Nikon 2.8 24-70mm. This means that I can take images that are quite close up and zoom out to get a wider image without having to move at all. I use it quite a lot on location when I am chasing your kids around the woods!! It is the largest of my lenses, especially when it has the lens hood on. This lens used to be on my camera all the time but I have found that over the last few years I have been using my 50mm.

My 50mm 1.8 is a Nikon lens and is my cheapest of all of my lenses. It is my go-to lens for location portraits as it gives that lovely blurry background that looks so good. It is also very small and easy to use, and I have taken some of my best photos using that lens.

The last main lens in my collection is my 35mm 1.4 Sigma. This is the lens that gives you the closest image to what your eyes see, well apparently!! It is a wide angle lens, which means that I can get a lot of the scenery and still get all of you in the image. It is also the lens that I use for my "In the Box" Portraits.

I have so many lenses that are on my wish list, and one is almost £6000... yup, that's thousands!! I would love it but I don't know how often I would actually use it!

I also carry spare SD cards for my camera as you never know if one will stop working or I run out of space! I usually have some kind of blanket with me for my location sittings too, I don't want your little ones to sit or lay in the dirt if they don't have to.

Snacks! I usually have snacks and a bottle of drink for myself as well.

I would like to add a lot of things to my camera bag, new lenses and more back up equipment. I would also like to add new equipment to the studio but am getting by nicely with what I have.

Take care of yourselves xx
